Plan Revision
I found having a fullsize printout of the track plan on the benchwork a very handy tool. You’re able to see how things will fit, how big or small they are, and how your space is used.
While looking over the plan, I wasn’t happy with how the Marigny river and the added junction track looked. I still had some open space that I wasn’t quite sure how to utilize. Then I thought about how the Daneville/Donner plan is, where the waterway comes under the track and then follows it along the layout for a few feet.
So I changed up the plan to follow this same pattern. The junction track now runs on the “south” side of the river while the mainline continues on the “north” side.
And Happy New Year Everyone!

Shaun–what software did you use for track plan? I enjoy following your blog
That’s a good way to visually separate those two tracks.
How many cars fit into an intermodel yard that size?
Hi Kent. I use RailModeller for Mac OS X for my track planning.
Avel: Not sure yet. Each track is about 25″ on average, so probably could get two of the 3-unit Kato MAXI stacks on a track. My Deluxe 5-car unit is still packed so I can’t measure that on. Probably just one of those on a track.
